As I write this, we’re coming to the end of summer here in Chamonix. Temperatures are dropping and our thoughts turn to the snowy season.

It’s all good stuff, and here are my stand out weeks for each of the 4 main months:
January: a week of day touring in the Valle d’Aosta with the Eagle Ski Club. Great snow, fab coffee, even better food and wine. Bellissimo.
February: A ski safari from Chamonix to Zermatt. In the valleys and mountains that link the two lies some of the most impressive ski terrain in the Alps. With only a couple hours touring each day, you can find untouched off piste terrain far from the madding crowds.
April: As many people will know, I’m a massive fan of Scandinavian skiing in general, Norway in particular and especially Senja. This island offers great options for coastal Arctic ski touring amid wild mountains! Accessible with a 2-3 hour drive from Tromso, the landscape could have been made for ski touring with ascents up to just under 1000m.
Have a look at any or all of these options, and drop me a line for more information.
Have a great season everyone!
